i-D magazine was established in 1980 by Terry Jones. A lot of the older covers are so exciting; there are more, as well as interview with Jones, at Hint.

I forgot that their thing is to make the models "wink", which comes from the fact that the logo is like a laughing and winking smiley face if you turn it on its side. Early issues had i-D positioned like that (the magazine cover itself was oriented sideways).
